Full form of NCB is Narcotics Control Bureau.

NCB is an apex Intelligence agency and Indian federal law enforcement under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Gov. of India. It also acts as an enforcement agency by its zones and sun-zones.

NCB enforcement of laws aims to stop trafficking and abuse of other illegal substances and also the smuggling of drugs to foreign countries.

The  headquarter of NCB is in New Delhi, India. and It is originated in March 1986 under the Section 4 (3) of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act, 1985.

State Government and related authorities to coordinate actions of public servants, under the Customs Act 1962, the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940, etc.

Execution of responsibility related to counter-measures against illegal traffic under various international protocols

To provide assist to the authorities in foreign countries and other international organizations in coordination and against unlawful traffic in drugs and psychotropic substances

To coordinate the actions taken against drug abuse by different Ministries like Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Welfare, etc.
