Full form of RAW

RAW full form is Research and Analysis Wing.

RAW is the India’s primary foreign intelligence agency. RAW agency was created after Indo-China war in 1962 and Indo-Pak war in 1965.

The first Director, Rameshwar Nath Kao, During the nine-year tenure,  RAW quickly came to prominence in the global intelligence community and playing a major role in some events like accession of the state of Sikkim to India. It is also involved in the security of India’s nuclear programme.

The headquarter of RAW is in New Delhi, India.

History

RAW India was firstly established under the guidance of Rameshwar Nath Kao in September 1968. He was the first director of RAW. RAW is not answerable for reporting directly to the P.M of the India.

The main reason for the creation of RAW was the poor performance of Intelligence bureau in the wars against China in 1962 and Pakistan in 1965.

Collecting intelligence was basically the responsibility of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), which was first created by the British raj.

The political disturbance in the world which ultimately led to the Second World War, In 1933.

The responsibilities of the Intelligence Bureau were increased to include the collection of intelligence along India’s borders.

Eligibility Criteria for RAW

The people working in RAW are treated as respectable and prestigious. Let’s know what are the eligibility criteria must meet by the candidates for various vacancies:

• The Applicant must be Indian Citizen.
• The Applicant must not have criminal background.
• The age must be less than 56 of years for applicants.
• An undergraduate degree must be completed from the recognized institution.
• The Applicant must be able to speak at least one foreign language.
• The specific duration of service must be completed with the government department.
